Raise money for Croft Juniors Football Club

My name is Laura Pacey and I am fundraising for Croft Juniors Football Club which is a grassroots football club based in Croft, Leicestershire. We are aiming to establish our own facilities which is a vital initiative that can, and will significantly enhance both the club and the broader community.

Croft Juniors Football Club is one of the biggest grassroots clubs within Leicestershire and as such now require their own space. At present the club runs on parish council ground with facilities that struggles to meet the needs of the size of the club. The natural surroundings which include a stream, often mean that a small amount of rainfall can cause poor pitch conditions often leading to cancellations of matches and relocation of training which is not cost effective nor sustainable.

Having dedicated facilities will provide a stable environment for training and matches, allowing for consistent scheduling and reducing reliance on shared or rented spaces. This stability is crucial for player development, as it ensures regular access to quality pitches and amenities.

Moreover, owning our facilities will lead to financial sustainability. Our Club will be able to generate our own revenue by renting out pitches and hosting community events, creating a self-sustaining model that supports maintenance and future improvements.

Community engagement is another significant benefit. A dedicated facility can serve as a hub for local activities, fostering a sense of belonging and encouraging participation in sport. This inclusivity is essential for promoting physical and mental well-being among residents and the wider community. Investing in grassroots football facilities ensures that everyone, regardless of background, has the opportunity to play and engage with the sport.

Additionally, owning our own facilities will improve the quality of pitches and infrastructure. The Football Foundation has emphasized the importance of enhancing grass pitches across the country, noting that a significant number of matches are canceled due to unplayable conditions. By investing in our own facilities, Croft Juniors Football Club will be able to maintain higher standards, ensuring far fewer cancellations and better playing conditions for all.
