We are reaching out to our community and beyond to rally support in memory of someone special to us – a man who has dedicated over a decade of his life to caring for others, both in and out of the dental chair. To raise funds for Brainwaves NI and vital research, we as a practice (Bupa Newtownabbey) will be abseiling down the Europa Hotel, a nod to Stuarts fear of heights!
For the past 10 years, Stuart has been the heart and soul of our practice – a Foundation Dentist (FD) Trainer to 10 FDs, a mentor, a leader, and a friend. He’s played an integral part in shaping the next generation of dentists, always generous with his time and wisdom - he was the practice dad!
Outside the practice, he was an adored husband and proud dad to 3 who loved golf, coffee, and trips to his native, Scotland. He always had a good story, calm presence and a random fun-fact!
When Stuart was faced with a difficult diagnosis of a brain tumour in January, he met it with unbelievable bravery, optimism, and courage. He remained positive throughout, never losing his sense of humour on the subject – a true reflection of his strength of character.
Whether you were one of the many patients touched by his care, a colleague inspired by his mentorship, or a friend lucky enough to share a laugh with him over a drink – we invite you to contribute what you can and share this with others who may want to help.
