Hi everyone my name is Kevin
Recently was my second Chemotherapy session. Feeling great but that’s because I’m full to the brim with steroids . If it follows the same pattern as last time I’ll be fine over the weekend, but then come crashing down on Monday for about 10 days before I’m back to my normal self.
I have to say that following my last post I was overwhelmed by the hundreds of messages of support. The post was also shared nearly 100 times. I’m so pleased because it’s so important to get the message out there, that men often have NO symptoms ♂️
The numbers really are frightening:
* It is now the most common form of cancer
* 1 in 8 men with get Prostate Cancer
* 1 in 5 of those who received a diagnosis with already be at Stage 4, i.e. Unable to be cured
* 13,000 men die every year from Prostate Cancer.
Together, by spreading the message about getting tested we really can help save lives ❤️
Since my own diagnosis I have had some time to reflect. As I’ve said, one of the main issues is that men aren’t programmed to go to the doctors. Therefore I’ve started a project called “62”. This is the year I was born and the age I was when diagnosed. My plan, being part of the biker community, is to travel round to biker events and rallies, talk to people and if needs be give out PSA Self-test kits free of charge. These kits cost around £15 each, but unbelievably I’ve already received £1,250 in donations and have already purchased 60 kits
These donations have mainly come from Wolfruna Chapter UK, as well as my lovely Mum Thank you so much guys.
If anyone would like to help I’d be very grateful and I’m thinking of setting up a Go Fund Me page.
One more point, this initiative isn’t restricted to bikers, so if anyone else would like me to attend an event of any sorts, please get in touch
One final thing, and a piece of good news for a change, when meeting with my Oncologist Consultant on Thursday, she told me the MRI on my Liver and Pancreas showed NO signs of the cancer spreading there. I put this down to the intense training my liver has gone through the many years. Must have toughened it up . Also she said my blood results were looking excellent and that I was reacting well to the treatments.
❤️
