Hello - I’m Tessa and I have set up this page to raise funds to help my dear friends Ash and Jo who’s lives have been turned upside down this last 7 months!
Ashley was diagnosed with end stage (5) Kidney failure due to Vasculitis in November 2020 and has had lots of treatment to suppress it and has dialysis 3 times a week for 4 hour sessions since he was urgently taken into hospital and this treatment is ongoing now until he has a transplant, the wait for this can vary but an average would be 3.5 years. His whole life has been changed in a blink of an eye and he is learning how to deal with a new normal, consisting of lots of medications and lots of hospital visits and the dialysis sessions.
Jo his wife was in February of this year (so just 3 months later and still getting her head around what has happened to her husband) diagnosed with Breast cancer.
They have two young boys who have been through so much this last 7 months and have been so strong themselves, I set this page up as myself and Rob (my husband) wanted to do something for them all, and Rob decided to take on the challenge of riding 1000k in the month of May to raise sponsorship, he absolutely smashed his target and we are now asking for any amount to put towards our fundraising efforts to help take the pressure off and help with costs of a home dialysis room so that Ashley can dialysis from home and do this more often than his current set sessions and times to help him feel better in himself. They both have to go through training which will hopefully start soon and Jo will learn how to do the sessions for Ash.
Please share this page with friends and family and any donations we would be very grateful of.
Tessa and Rob xx
