Raise it for Ry

This is Ryan.  A husband to Brandi and a father to Takai, Koji, Kaz & Mieko.  He is a son, a son-in-law, a brother, a brother-in-law and friend to many.  He is one of the hardest working men that I know.  He is always the first one to show up if you need him and he is extremely generous with his time and talent.  The last few days have been a whirlwind for him and his family.  There have been tests, CT Scan, Ultrasounds, a biopsy, and he has now been admitted into the hospital for more tests.  The doctors are being very thorough and are very concerned with making sure to get the proper diagnosis.  We are still awaiting the final results.  UPDATE: Ryan has been diagnosed with Stage 4 T Cell Lymphoma. This will be a minimum of 6-8 months of treatments if everything goes as planned.  

Anyone that knows Ryan knows that he is normally an active, healthy, and strong human.  His health has always been a priority.  Watching my brother not be able to do what he loves and lay there in pain has been extremely hard for all of us.  He is our rock.    

My brother, Ryan, is a self-employed business owner who does not have medical insurance.  If he isn't working they have very minimal income....definitely not enough to pay their bills.  They also have diabetic expenses for their oldest son who has down syndrome.  I know all of our family and many of his friends are willing to do what we can but we cannot cover everything.  We realize that there are going to be many more bills and expenses that are going to pop up.  So Let's "Raise it for Ry" and his family and help relieve their financial burden.

UPDATE as of March 28, 2021:
Ryan had a T-Cell transpant in January that unfortunately did not give us the results that we were all hoping for.  His scan shows that he still has cancer.  The new plan moving forward will look like weekly chemo for a year.  If in that year the cancer doesn't get worse, he will be eligible for another transplant by a donor.  His doctors have highly recommend that he does not work which is a struggle for Ry.  He is such a hard worker and would love nothing more than to get out and provide for his family.  Since this process is going to be at least a year, they are in need of as much financial help as they can get.  They are looking into funding from other sources but  will also need us to help ease their financial needs.  To date we have raised around $45,000 which is so AMAZING and has helped in so many ways.  I am increasing the goal to $100,000 in hopes that this will at least cover monthly expenses until December. 

If you cannot afford to give, that's ok.  There is another way to help through the bottle depot in spruce grove.  Just simply donate your bottle money to the Harris fundraiser and they will make sure that they get them the money.  You can also send e-transfers if that is easier.  You can send it directly to Brandi at [email redacted].  There is also a meal train calendar that I will update in our "Raise It For Ry" Facebook group.
