Raise funds to support Carol

Carol urgently needs hip replacement surgery so we are reaching out to the Manly Bubble and Beyond for assistance.

Both of her hips are irreparably damaged and her right hip has completely disintegrated. She is currently in hospital, cannot walk and is in terrible pain. It would be a two year wait for Public Health surgery and we cannot wait.

She has surgery for one hip replacement booked on the 12th October and the other as soon as possible after that.

The cost exceeds $30,000 which goes towards hospital stay, theatre nurses, anesthesiologist, rehab, cost of hip implant and surgeons. The funds will be received by her youngest daughter Sheena who is managing the costs of the surgery and liaising with the Doctors and hospital staff along with her eldest daughter Gilli.

We are reaching out to fellow dancers and students who trained with Carol over the past 40 years whose lives she has touched and shaped. She gave us the space, push and training we all needed to begin to see dance as a career and/or the training to enable us to develop into the many career paths we have taken.

Like a true dancer, she has kept going but this has left Carol in a place where she urgently needs our support so she and her family can move forward with their immediate and necessary planning with less worry about the financial burden.

Carol has trained dancers working all over the world in ballet and dance companies as well as musical theatre and cabaret, Disneyland, teaching, mentoring, directing, performing, mothering, creating.

Carol also loved teaching the beautiful people who have become doctors, engineers, lawyers, a geologist, a concert pianist and her greatest love, which was teaching the teachers.

‘I loved teaching the whole human - “ it takes a village to raise a child” and I loved being a part of that process for people .

Her mind, ethos, determination and those fierce blue eyes never let us think, for a second, that we could not reach our potential.
