Lonnie Elijah Bland was a high school senior with a bright future, a writing talent, and a promising baseball career. Sadly, an unexpected and horrific car accident would leave Lonnie hospitalized and fighting for his life in a coma. While in this coma Lonnie underwent several life saving procedures, damage to his brain, and both physical and mental wounds. Though Lonnie would eventually find the strength to wake up and see his family again, it would seem that life was too painful for Lonnie to keep on living. Lonnie fought a good fight but the lord saw fit to call him home on April 5 of 2023. While Lonnie was in the hospital fighting for his life, his mother was forced to leave her job to continue to not only monitor his care but also care for her other son who is dealing with health issues of his own. Lonnie’s mother carried great burdens that were heavier with the added stress of Lonnie’s growing medical expenses. Lonnie was loved greatly, fully, and deeply. The family is hurting but asks for privacy and love at this time, but donations are both welcomed highly appreciated. Thank you.
