Raise Funds to Finish a School in Rural Cambodia.

Donation protected

Hi Everyone my name is Loris Francoletti and thank you for taking the time to read my short story.
As some of you might know I am currently travelling and volunteering in South East Asia.
During April and May, I had the pleasure to volunteer for 4 weeks at Cando School, a community-based school in rural Cambodia.

Before leaving I was speaking with the founder and owner Kosal and I asked him if there was anything I could do to help, at that point, he mentioned that it could be very good if I am able to raise money in order to finish the school. They need the money to complete the school and create two more rooms.

At that moment while he was speaking to me, I decided to create this GoFundMe campaign to help him finish the school. I thought "I know so many people, for sure they will be willing to help for this good cause!"

The students aged 4 to 14 are adorable and I really would like to be able to help and contribute a tiny little bit to their future. Education is important, I really would like help these children to have a better future. Here they learn to read and write, they learn Khmer, English, Math and Computer.
In our part of the world, we take education and going to school for granted.

How cool would it be that I and my real and virtual friends can raise the amount of money needed to complete the building of the school?
As you can see from the images, only one half of the school has been finished.
Any money donated will be used to complete the second part of the school.
The target is to raise 4300 Dollars. A previous volunteer already raised some funds.

Any amount you are able to contribute is greatly appreciated by Kosal and Kim his wife, and if you aren't able to contribute money at this time, it would be great if you could share this GoFundMe campaign with your friends or on your social media.

Below you can find a personal message from the founder Kosal Sar.

Thank you a lot for your time and attention.

Loris

"I’m Kosal Sar, since 5 years myself, together with my family, are devoted to making education in Cambodia more accessible to children. We have already created two schools in different parts of our country, investing our time and savings, and thanks also to the precious collaboration of other people who believed in our cause.

Now we’re working on a new school in a rural area, Cando School, Damnakpongro Kak AngKugn village.

We believe that building school classrooms for kids in remote villages in Cambodia is a great tangible way to improve access to education for those who would otherwise have limited opportunities to attend basic schooling. We teach children to read and write. We teach Khmer, math, English and Computer. Our student’s age is from 4 years to 14 years old.

We already built two classrooms with our own funds but demand increased quickly and some students are attending classes outside the classrooms. Our long-term plan is to be able to have a library, a room dedicated to computers and a kitchen to offer lunch to students.

Our funds are not enough to promptly build more classrooms, so we're looking for your support to raise just enough to build the other two classrooms as soon as possible.

To ensure that the project is well-managed and the construction is of high quality, the same experienced company that already built the other side of the schools will be in charge. Local workers and materials will be used, providing employment opportunities and also building a sense of ownership and pride in the local community toward the school. As a supporter, you will be updated on the building progress through email, WhatsApp or Facebook"

Address: Pangey campus, Damnakpongro Kak AngKugn village, Preyvihear Commune, Kong Pisey
district, Kampong Speu province, Cambodia.

1. The construction is expected to be completed in one and a half months after the needed funds are collected.
2. The project comprises 2 classrooms of 7 x 7 meters, including a front walk-side.
