Help Us Raise Funds For Tom

As most of you know, Tom was diagnosed with ALS last year.

ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. There is no cure for ALS yet.

Although Tom has been able to benefit from several grants available to those with ALS, there are still many ongoing medical costs that are not covered by grants or insurance.

Tom & his wife Patty have worked incredibly hard to provide Tom with what he needs during this time, but they shouldn't have to do it alone. We would love nothing more than to help take this financial burden off of their shoulders. Our goal is shower them with as much love as humanly possible and give them the ability to fully enjoy their time together without this added financial stress.

We are asking for donations of any amount & hope you will feel led to give as generously as you are able.

All funds raised will go directly to Tom & Patty.

Here's How Your Donation Will Be Used:

Treatment & Medication: The treatment options available for ALS vary greatly and are administered on a case by case basis. There are still so many unknowns regarding this disease, and no known cure. Most treatment plans currently offered merely include support for symptoms already occurring, and unfortunately have little effect on slowing the progression of ALS. In order to assist in the research for finding effective treatments, Tom has selflessly & bravely opted to take part in several Clinical Trials (not covered by insurance) to help continue the search for a cure.

In-Home Health Care: As the disease continues to progress, in-home help is necessary to ensure Tom is receiving the daily care he needs. Finding a dedicated & qualified caregiver is absolutely imperative for Tom's safety, health, and general well being.

Medical Supplies & Small Home Modifications For Accessibility: Machines to assist with breathing & lung strength, wheelchairs, & accessibility modifications for their home, are just a few of the things necessary to help Tom continue to enjoy life to the fullest-safely & comfortably. As his needs continue to evolve, so will his need for new and/or different supplies & equipment.

General Living Expenses: With the added (& ever-growing) weight of ongoing medical expenses, there are understandably several financial needs that extend beyond those that involve Tom's care directly.
