Raise funds for our 50th Reunion

Hello I am Elizabeth Rosenberg, the DHS Class of 74 Reunion Committee Chairperson and this year marks our 50th Class Reunion, and not only is it a milestone. This could be one of few remaining opportunities we will have to gather as a class and catch up with folks we may not have seen in years or may ever see again. With that in mind, several of us have formed a working group to organize a reunion that we hope will have broad appeal and you will be able to attend.

We have scheduled a Friday meet and greet with a cash bar with hors d’oeuvres on September 13th at the Doubletree Inn which will also host the Saturday sit-down Dinner with games and dancing.

To put on a great reunion, we are raising funds for our 50th reunion. We have almost met our goal and have most of the event paid for. However, we could use just a bit more to keep the cost per person down.

I understand that there have been some questions about using this platform for raising money. We did research using this platform and found that GoFundMe can be used for anything a person might need funds for Major Medical type things to raising money for rent.

The funds we collect here will be used to pay the deposits on the venues/food, the cost of decorations, nametags and any incidentals that may arise and were not foreseen by the committee. The money donated is not for paying hotel, flights or personal expenses.

While we believe everyone who attends should contribute, we do not want someone to miss this boat entirely on account of money. Some of us can contribute more than others and may be willing to contribute more than their pro rata share. All donations will be appreciated, no matter how large or small, and you will have the option to contribute anonymously, if you wish. While we will maintain accountability for donations and disbursements, only the program administrator will have access to both the names of the donor and amounts donated.
