My name is Mark.

I was paralyzed in 2012 from a blood clot. I am also on dialysis three days away from Kidney failure due to the same blood clot episode. I am seeking to raise money for a new vehicle for three reasons.

The primary reason is because last year my wife sadly passed away from cancer after battling cancer for 6 years. While she was alive, she could drive our entire family including myself and our four teenagers in her vehicle. Unfortunately, I can’t drive her vehicle and my vehicle will only accommodate 3 of our 4 children. Now, we often take two cars to drive places. This is why I need a larger vehicle like a van.

My second reason is because before I was paralyzed I was able to take my children camping. It was a great way for me to bond with my children and we all miss it. In addition, a lot of my friends have started camping. I haven’t been able to go camping because I need specific medical considerations.

The final reason is because in the next two years, I will have one college teenager and three teenagers applying for college. The costs of four kids in college at the same time will be expensive. This is another reason for the fundraiser.

Therefore, I would like a vehicle that would be able to accommodate all four of my children and have the equipment that would allow me to sleep in the vehicle while camping.

The van and equipment I need is not cheap. I do have some of my own money and there is nominal grant money that I could apply for ($1000), so I really need your help. I went to friends and family for financial support when my wife had cancer. This is why I am reaching out to the general public.
