Raise funds for Iz to recieve mental health treatment

Hi guys,

I’ve recently I’ve had a huge decline in my mental health.

I hate that I’m in a position where I need to ask for financial support however at this point I’ve run out of options.

2 weeks ago I presented to the emergency department with suicidal ideation after being sent by my psychologist. After waiting 36hrs being told I would get a bed in the psychiatric ward the psychiatrist came and told me that there wasn’t a bed for me and that even though I had a plan to end my life they were going to discharge me.

This triggered trauma for me which sent me into a hysterical dissociative episode. In which I attempted to end my life. After 3 ambulances and 2 police cars were called I was taken to back to the emergency department where I was treated in the trauma bay for my injuries. If my girlfriend hadn’t been there as well as the help from my neighbours I would be dead due to the neglect from the public mental health system. I was put under the mental health act and sent to a mental health facility where I received no support and 30minutes in total with a psychiatrist that continuously invalidated and misgendered me.

I was discharged 5days later into the community. I then found out my main supports my support workers would be away for 2 weeks over the Christmas period. We have been struggling to find a replacement and due to the time of the year most are unavailable.

On Sunday I presented back at the emergency department after having planned to end my life, where I was told I would be admitted for a voluntary admission. I waited 40hrs and the mental health team came back saying there wasn’t a bed and that there was no point admitting me because “statistically speaking I am no less likely to die by suicide being discharged now then I would be if they put me in the psych unit for 48hrs (which is the maximum they would admit me without any psychiatric treatment or support)”

I have gone back onto private health insurance as of this week however I’m unable to wave the 2 month waiting period to receive private psychiatric care which is now my only option.

Without private health insurance the cost per week is $7900 for an inpatient admission. I’m currently on disability and I have no funds to be able to support this. And I already have a loan in my name. I’ve taken leave from work due to my current MH crisis and have no family that is able to help me pay for this.

If everyone that follows me donates a dollar I would be able to be inpatient for 3.5weeks to receive mental health support in the form of groups, treatment from my psychiatrist and support from trained mental health nurses.
