Raise Funds for Daz: Navigating Life After Amputation

Hey, I want to share something really important about my best mate Daz, who’s been by my side for over 20 years. We’ve shared countless memories, lived together when we were younger, and he stood by me as the best man at my wedding. Daz is the kind of person who always puts others first; he’d give you the shirt off his back, and if you’re lucky, it might even be clean! His laughter is contagious, and his jokes are so bad they’re actually good. His unique sense of humor has brightened so many of our days, even when times get tough.

Now Daz is facing one of the hardest challenges of his life. Tomorrow, he will undergo a below-knee amputation due to cancer in his left foot. The doctors say it’s his best option, but it breaks my heart to see him go through this. He’s been incredibly brave, but I know he needs our support now more than ever.

Daz is currently living in a half-finished renovation, which is basically a fancy way of saying his house looks like a construction zone. I want to do everything I can to help him get back on his feet—literally and figuratively. I’ve roped in a bunch of tradie mates who are ready to pitch in with the labor, and we’re determined to make his home safe and accessible. Every dollar we raise will go directly towards the materials needed to complete the renovations, starting with the kitchen. If we can gather enough support, we’ll also tackle the loungeroom, laundry, and maybe even the backyard.
