Hi, my name is David P. France and I am the Artistic Director and Choreographer of the David P. France Dance Company!

I am an American who moved to Basel, Switzerland at the start of 2008 and have lived here ever since. I have been dancing since the early 1980s.

While in Switzerland I started a dance company, which lasted from approximately 2009 to 2014. We have worked with dancers and non-dancers from the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, France, Switzerland, Brazil, India, and Mexico. We performed at festivals and interviewed on TV in Belgrade, Serbia; performed and photographed in the streets of Paris, France, and held dance workshops in Rome, Italy.

Since 2014, I have been dancing, working, and supporting dance studios mainly in Lausanne, Zurich, and Basel. I have also been studying Flamenco here in Switzerland and also in Vienna, Austria, and Spain (Seville and Granada).

For many years, I have performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe where I gained invaluable performance and choreography experience under Susana B. Williams' Dance-Forms Productions. Also in the past, I have participated in a dance theater workshop in Austria led by Russian theatre director and choreographer, Sergei Ostrenko.

As of February 2023 - I have relaunched David P. France Dance Company with the intent of reaching more audiences mainly in the United States and Europe!

Although dance is a very important cultural grounding and base point that touches so many lives, it still is a rare opportunity for many to see and experience this transformative process.

The current funding structures for the arts are antiquated. The way the public experiences live dance performances needs a new approach.

We would like to change this! Will you help us?

Our first big goal is to get American dancers and choreographers over to Europe to perform and teach AND to get European dancers and choreographers over to the U.S. to go the same!

The first wave of fundraising goes to the production costs for this goal.
