Hello, my name is Lesley and I am raising much needed funds & awareness for Cardiomyopathy UK.
The fund raising event is being held in the highlands of Scotland on Saturday 9th of May 2026.
The event is going to be a memorial event.
Last April, my great niece and her husband Tim were awaiting the birth of their first child, a son they had called Oliver.
But sadly on 18th April 2025, Rebekah lost her life to undiagnosed Cardiomyopathy.
Rebekah and Tim's beautiful boy was also born sleeping.
Oliver was a perfect full term baby.
We are having a a retro disco and I'm going to have my head shaved.
So please sponsor me to have my head shaved in memory of Rebekah and Oliver and help me raise my goal of £1,000.
I am going to live stream my head shave on the Facebook page around 7.30pm at the charity event.
So please tune in to Rebekah & Oliver's Memorial Charity Event page for Cardiomyopathy UK on Facebook to show your support.
Cardiomyopathy UK is the only specialist UK charity for people affected by cardiomyopathy,
a group of conditions that affect the structure of the heart and reduce its ability to pump
blood around the body. We’re here for those who have just been diagnosed, those living
with the condition and for families and friends who need support or advice.
Our services include:
✓ Free cardiac nurse helpline (0800 [phone redacted], 8:30am – 4:30pm Mon to Fri)
✓ Support groups and peer support over the phone
✓ Wide range of free, expert information resources
✓ Online education for healthcare professionals
✓ Specialist support for parents, children and young people living with cardiomyopathy
Cardiomyopathy is the leading cause of sudden cardiac death in under 35-year-olds. That’s
why we also raise awareness of cardiomyopathy, so that more people can be diagnosed
early. We know that people living with cardiomyopathy don’t always receive the care and
treatment they need, so we campaign for improvements and promote research that could
mean one day, everyone diagnosed with cardiomyopathy can live a long and full life.
