Hello everyone,
My name is Sasha, and I’m once again reaching out for support for my beautiful twin sister, Jasmine.
Firstly, from the bottom of our hearts - thank you. The love, kindness, donations, and shares from Jasmine’s previous fundraiser have meant more than we could ever put into words. Because of you, Jasmine was able to access holistic medicines, begin alternative treatments, purchase high-quality organic foods while she was well enough, and continue supporting her body with natural supplements and vitamins. Your generosity truly gave her comfort, strength, and hope during such a difficult time.
We are so incredibly grateful.
Since our last update, things have unfortunately taken a very serious and urgent turn.
Jasmine recently began further conventional treatment, including immunotherapy, alongside continuing her holistic approach. At her first review, we were told the cancer appeared to have grown, but that in some cases immunotherapy can initially cause swelling before improvement - so we held onto hope and continued.
However, over the past few weeks, Jasmine’s health has deteriorated significantly. She has been extremely unwell from the treatment itself, alongside worsening symptoms from the cancer. She has been in and out of hospital with suspected infections, becoming weaker each time, and experiencing increasing and severe bladder pain.
A few days after being discharged from one admission, Jasmine noticed something deeply concerning - stool in her urine - and was rushed back to hospital. We have now been told she has developed a fistula between her bowel and bladder, caused by the cancer progressing.
At her most recent oncology review, we were devastated to hear that the cancer is now growing rapidly and the treatment has not worked.
We are now in an incredibly difficult position. Because of the fistula, the cancer team are unable to discuss or offer any further treatment until this complication is addressed, due to the high risk of ongoing severe infections. Meanwhile, Jasmine has been in hospital for over a week, waiting, in pain, and growing weaker.
We completely understand how stretched the NHS is - but the delays have been incredibly hard to witness. It has taken days just to be seen by a consultant surgeon. Jasmine is currently being managed with medication while we wait for answers.
We were told yesterday that her case is extremely complex. There may be two separate fistulas, and surgery - if possible - would likely only be to manage symptoms, not fully resolve the issue. She now needs an MRI scan to determine whether surgery can even go ahead, but this is another wait.
All the while, Jasmine still has an aggressive cancer that cannot currently be treated.
Time is not on our side.
As a family, we are now doing everything we can to take matters into our own hands - urgently seeking second opinions, researching specialist colorectal surgeons, looking into private MRI scans, and exploring options further afield that may be able to help Jasmine faster.
Our goal is to get Jasmine stable, comfortable, and strong enough to continue fighting - and to keep exploring both advanced and holistic treatment options that may give her a chance.
But we cannot do this alone.
We are once again asking for your help - to give Jasmine the best possible chance at accessing urgent care, private imaging, specialist consultations, and continued holistic support.
Jasmine is still fighting. We are still holding onto hope. And we will continue to do everything we can for her.
If you are able to donate, share, or simply keep Jasmine in your thoughts, it truly means the world to us.
Thank you again for standing beside us - your support continues to carry us through the darkest moments.
With love and gratitude,
Sasha, family and of course, our beautiful selfless warrior, Jasmine XXX
