Hi, I am Alfred’s dad, George. Alfred’s travel chair was damaged by the airline following our trip to Toronto for Alf’s treatment.

This chair is Alfred’s independence when the world we live in isn’t accessible for all. We can’t lift his power chair up stairs or over rough terrain.

The chair was brand new before our trip to Toronto, funded by Jaguar Land Rover. It has recently been assessed by the manufacturer and is deemed unsafe for use due to impact damage!! This, like all disability equipment costs a mini fortune!

The airline will not accept liability!!

Alfred is truly gutted as he can’t get to places with us or his friends to have the independence he so desires.

I am crowdfunding to get the wheelchair repaired as we have an endless list of equipment and therapy bills. We can’t now travel without it. Considering this was a brand new £5,000 chair in September, I am devastated this has happened.

I have attached the emails from the wheelchair company and the airline involved.

I wish I could just pay for the repairs, but we don’t have spare pennies at the moment!

All we want is for Alf to feel free and having two types of wheelchair is the only way we know how.
