- Hi, we are Purr-fect Pals Rescue and Max came into our care with his mum and 6 siblings after been found on the street.
- It soon became noticeable that Max was struggling to breath so investigations and an x-ray was done which showed he has a condition called peritoneopericardial diaphragmatic hernia which is where the diaphragm (which separates the abdomen from the chest) has a hole in it that allows the contents of the abdomen to pass through into the sac that surrounds the heart. So all his intestines etc are pushing up against his heart and lungs. It’s a rarer form of hernia and is congenital so he will have been born with it. He needs surgery to repair the hole and keep his organs in the right places. This comes at a cost of nearly £4000.
- We are a very small foster run rescue and this would wipe us out completely .
- Max is fighting to stay alive and only 5 weeks old.
