Raise for Rens Spine Surgery

Last week on January 31st, our beloved friend and brother Rens was in a terrible car accident in Costa Rica.  So serious that we were unsure if Rens would ever walk again.  He was quickly rushed to the nearest hospital to discover he has fractured and compressed his spine, leaving him completely immobile and in immense pain.  Emergency surgery was the only option to keep his chances of ever walking again.  As anyone can imagine,  the days leading up to his surgery was filled with all sorts of emotions and uncertainties.   

Fortunately the surgery was a success and Rens is slowly rehabilitating.  Walking, sitting up, and simple movements are now temporary challenges but he will definitely recover!

These are the types of freak accidents that you’d never expect happen to any of us, but unfortunately it happened to our friend Rens.  The hospital bill including surgery alone is over $50,000.  This does not include travel fees, unexpected expenses and the uncertainty of his income due to his limited mobility.  Our only concern at the moment is to get him home.
