Raise for IIAS Scientist-Astronaut Program
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tate and I’ve been accepted to the astronaut-scientist program with the International Institute for Astronautical Sciences. The program costs $5500 and then it is required to buy a flight suit, which is $250. Space has always been my passion, and it’s my desire to help others in aerospace through education, research, outreach, and representation. Your donation can help me participate in this program:
-Mission simulation and Crew Resource Management (CRM) training in the IIAS Suborbital Simulator
-High-G and microgravity Space Physiology indoctrination flight using an Extra 300L aerobatic aircraft, including Anti-G Garment and AGSM training
-Individualized instruction on PoSSUMCam and scientific video camera systems
-Airborne scientific imagery training flight using instrumented aircraft
-High-altitude mission training to 25,000’ in a full altitude chamber facility using simulation for slow-onset hypoxia scenarios.
-Initial space suit training (don, doff, regulating pressure, basic mobility, fine motor skills, flight system control, hazardous environments, contingency operations)
-Full mission simulation training in space suits in the IIAS Suborbital Simulator
The knowledge and skills gained from this program will be critical for future opportunities with IIAS and a career in aerospace. Your support would give me the opportunity to do something that would not be feasible otherwise.
Thank you! Ad astra!
