Raise For a Four!
Tax deductible
Oyster Bay Community Rowing has grown significantly over the past few years despite the pandemic's many challenges. We have close to 80 rowers ranging from 7th to 12th grade from multiple school districts. We are proud of our athletes who challenge themselves daily to attain their rowing goals.
Now that we are in our new boathouse, we have reviewed our growing club's inventory. Our juniors experience the daily challenges of aging shells and oars in training. The board, head coach, and program director have determined that we need to upgrade some of our equipment to retain the competitive edge. As you may know, these boats are pretty expensive! OBCR has spent significant funds to purchase other boats and ergs in the past to maintain the quality of our programming. That said, our more extensive fleet and most of our oars are suitable for training, but a newer quad/four and some oars are needed for competition. We all want our athletes who work hard to have equipment that can deliver better results when it is time for regattas.
Our community of families has generously supported the club in the past regarding equipment needs. We ask that you consider donating to our fundraising campaign to purchase a Vespoli convertible quad/four boat, a set of 8 sweeping oars, and two pairs of sculling oars! The price tag for a new Vespoli 4-/x shell is approximately $20,000, and the oars cost $5000. Together It is an achievable goal, and we hope to be able to reach our $25,000 with the help and support of our friends and family.
Please help our junior athletes today by donating what you can to help us!
We thank you in advance for your generosity, and we remind you that Oyster Bay Community Rowing is a 501(c)3 organization, and ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
GoFundMe allows for a printout of your gift receipt for your tax records.
