Hi my name is Theresa Damsell and a lot of you already know I recently lost my husband Tim through a heart condition. Following his death my family and friends have raised funds to install Defibrillators into the local community in the hope that it might help at least one person. To date we have now installed three and we're now looking for our fourth.

Our good friends, Clayton Duval and Abbie Quirke have had the good fortune to recently take over The Apple Tree Inn in Glastonbury. A warm, welcoming pub dating back to 1674 in the heart of the Somerset countryside. Now settled in, they would like to do something for the local community to thank them for being so welcoming and make moving in so enjoyable. We have therefore joined forces and decided to install a Defibrillator to serve the local community, the next nearest being too far away to be of any use to anyone who is in need of it.

Heart attacks can strike at any age and at any time, even the fittest. Tim, who you would think would be the last person who would be taken by this deadly illness, never knew he had any problems with his heart, it can strike at the most unexpected and unbelievable time. This is also a busy stretch of road and unfortunately there can be serious road accidents

A well-known fact is that having a defibrillator in the close area of someone having cardiac arrest can save their life, but it needs to be within 100 meters. We all know someone who has passed due to heart issues, let's hope we can help at least one person survive.

It is also hoped a Bleed Kit will also be installed next to the Defibrillator as another emergency back up.
