As many of us are still dealing with our own personal aftermath resulting from Hurricane Irma, one of our own has been especially affected by the storm due to significant flooding. On Sunday, September 10, 2017 our technician, David Howell was in his apartment in Ocala when the power went out. This would be a fortunate event because flood waters would soon rush into his apartment. Had the power still been on, it would have certainly been a deadly situation.
David was stuck in his apartment, alone, with no one to call to rescue him from this dangerous situation. Rescuers and first responders had suspended operations due to the severity of the hurricane conditions. The next day, the flood water in his apartment was still coming in, yet David had no choice but to remain in his apartment. Not only was his apartment flooded, but both his personal vehicle and company issued vehicle were also filled with water. It would be a week before David could return to work.
In the days following the storm, David tried to salvage as much of his belongings as possible with little success. All of his furniture was ruined, personal documents lost, and of course, personal family mementos destroyed. David's apartment is uninhabitable and he has been required to not only find a new place to live, but also will have to purchase new furniture and a new vehicle.
A.D. Solutions™ has started a gofundme campaign on David Howell's behalf. Our goal is to raise $5,000.00 by the A.D. Solutions 7th annual Townhall on October 20, 2017. A.D. Solutions will match donations up to $2,000.00. All proceeds raised by A.D. Solutions will be distributed directly to David Howell for personal expenses.
