My Fight Against Cancer

My story starts here...
Just over three years ago, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma on my 29th birthday. I remember a stabbing pain and a shortness of breath just as I was about to wish for a blessed year. I ended up in the hospital that night with the doctor saying, “your lungs almost caved in”. Nothing could’ve prepared me for the years to come.
The cancer came back twice. I was diagnosed three times.
It was originally discovered around the heart, second time lungs and then resurfaced in the lumbar spinal area. After extensive targeted chemotherapy, radiation therapy and even a clinical trial auto-stem cell transplant (from one of the top cancer hospitals in the world), I am left here – in the hospital – yet again.
How could someone who used to practise Muay Thai now be left without the ability walk? The cancer took away everyday things that we take for granted – like my ability to draw, to walk, to create the art and music I want to share with the world.
But I am still hopeful. I still want to create.
I am hoping to raise awareness and raise funds for potential alternative treatment that might give myself and others a fighting chance to beat cancer once and for all.
Let’s get me back into my second home, Krudar Muay Thai, let’s get me back creating in the studio and back into Hillsong connect group! I miss being able to just go and visit my “fam” whenever I wanted. I miss the days before – this.
