Raise a Hand to Help Tim Huffar

This is my dad, Tim Huffar. On April 26, 2020 he was airlifted to the trauma unit at Condell Medical after accidentally severing his left hand on a miter saw while at my home. As a level 1 trauma victim, he was the highest level trauma the hospital can handle. It took a team of surgeons and staff to care for and fix my dad, and it's a miracle that he's alive, his hand is saved, and he can already move his thumb and feel some of his fingers.
As horrific and traumatizing as this was for him, me and my son, there will never be enough words for me to express my gratitude to the people who saved him. I thought I would never see him again when the ambulance drove him away. Thankfully, the paramedics, LifeNet flight crew and Condell staff reattached all internal structures and his hand! He has several plates, metal rods and pins holding his hand in place. Once the stitches come out, they will decide when he can have the metal plate removed.
He has a long road ahead, with significant therapy and another surgery. As a result of this injury, my dad can't work. He's a self-employed contractor and hands-on guy, and this injury will prevent him from doing his job for a long time. The COVID-19 pandemic already had sidelined his business prior to this incident.
I'm hoping to raise enough money to help my parents with their medical bills. All money raised will go to pay their high deductible, additional medical costs that will not be covered by insurance and some living expenses while my dad is not working and going through rehabilitation and therapy
My family is very important to me. My dad was trying to help me when this happened because the first floor of my townhouse had flooded weeks before, and he was doing some repair work to save me some money because I had lost my job. I know I'm asking a lot, especially during this crazy time where so many people are losing their jobs. But I know my parents need help right now, and that is why I've set up this fund. My dad will be in recovery for the next 9 months, if we are lucky.
He came home from the hospital on April 29th, and he is now resting. The picture above was from his last day in the hospital. I love my dad, and I'm just so happy he's here. And I want both of my parents to be OK. Please consider helping them. Thank you!
