Raise £2,500- Pakistan Balochistan Flood Victims

Donation protected

OUR APPEAL: £2,500
FOR: FLOOD VICTIMS IN PAKISTAN

One-third of Pakistan has been completely submerged by historic flooding, leaving 33 million Pakistanis (1 in 7 people) affected by the 2022 ongoing floods. Devastating flash floods have destroyed roads, homes and crops - leaving a trail of deadly destruction and chaos across Pakistan.

Pakistan has more glaciers than anywhere in the world apart from the polar regions. As such, due to climate change and global warming, the country is extremely vulnerable to sudden outbursts of melting glacier water that have the power to bring widespread destruction to its people. This along with one of the heaviest monsoon seasons the country has experienced in recent years, has led to widespread flooding.

Pakistan has received nearly 190% more rain than the 30-year average in the quarter from June to August, totalling 390.7mm (15.38 inches). It has been estimated that at least 1,136 people have died since the monsoon season began in June this year.

The World Health Organization has reported that more than 6.4 million people are in dire need of humanitarian aid. Their rehabilitation will be an ongoing process. Early estimates put the damage from Pakistan's recent deadly floods at more than $10 billion. Your help is desperately needed!

Having deep roots from Jhal Magsi District in Balochistan, means our Co-founder, Aalya Magsi and her family members have direct access to the people and the land. Currently a widespread grassroots effort has been undertaken by the Magsi family to organize the following key operations. However your donations would help to maintain the ongoing relief efforts by:

1) Continuing rescue efforts through boats and helicopters of those stranded
2) Purchase the following items for immediate relief: tarps, tents and waterproof shelter cloths as people have been displaced from their homes. *Thus far over 200 tents and tarps have been purchased and distributed to those affected (See images below).
3) Organising ration packs for needy families, containing the following items: Rice, Flour (optional) lentils, oil, tea, sugar, milk powder, basic spices, soap, matchbox, and gentle washing powder.
4) Medical aid kits containing basic antibiotics and first aid items for waterborne diseases and injuries.

Despite Pakistan’s high population, as a nation, the overall emissions and contribution to global warming are less than 0.5% of heat-trapping emissions pumped into the atmosphere since the Industrial Revolution [Union of Concerned Scientists]. To put that into perspective, the United States is responsible for 25%.

One of the key mission statements of our business [PEAKZ LIMITED, REG NO: 09918504, VAT NO: [phone redacted] 83] is to reduce the impact of climate change. This is a clear example where the effects of climate change have impacted humans, animals and our actual physical land, leaving absolute death and destruction behind.

This is an issue that hits close to home, as one of the Co-founders and Directors of our business is from Balochistan, Pakistan, an area which has historically been underfunded for decades. The situation in Jhal Magsi, Balochistan is a glimpse of what is going on in the rest of Balochistan. The continuous rain has inundated and engulfed the entire area 6-8 feet of water. People, houses, and animals and the infrastructure have been most affected. The situation is dire as people in the area are being neglected. There is barely any media coverage so your help will be immensely appreciated by the needy in the area of Jhal Magsi, Balochistan.

This page aims to raise funds which will be used directly to provide relief and rehabilitation to the neediest in Jhal Magsi, Balochistan in Pakistan. Please remember these people have little to no help from the government and rely on the kindness and generosity of people like you to help them get back on their feet.

This is a direct-to-source fundraiser mission. All funds will be wired directly to Muhammad Zarain Magsi in Pakistan (Aalya Magsi, Director’s brother), who will be purchasing relief items and distributing them [as seen in the videos].

Gratitude and prayers,
Aalya Magsi
