Save Rainmaker: Build a new home for Native art

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Joanne Prince and I am the founder and director of Rainmaker Gallery. For over 30 years Rainmaker has been the only dedicated contemporary Native American art gallery in the UK and Europe but our future is under threat and we need your help now!

The gallery space that we have occupied for the past 15 years is under new ownership and we have to relocate. Although this forced closure was not of our choosing, we have in truth outgrown this space and this is our chance to find a premises befitting the world-class art and artists that we represent.

Our business model is designed to bring longterm visibility to Native people rather than to generate excess profit. Although this move will be expensive, with your generous support, together we can give Indigenous art a PERMANENT home in the UK and continue our work.

The Project

To relaunch Rainmaker Gallery in an owned space in the spring of 2022, guaranteeing the future of our work to support Indigenous communities and raise the international profiles of Native artists through exhibitions, education and cultural exchange.

The Costs

  • Deposit for purchase of property £50,000
  • legal & professional fees £3,000
  • moving costs £2,000
  • refurbishment of space £9,000
  • rebranding £3,000
  • re-launch with exhibition, events & visiting artist £5,000
  • contingency £3,000

Today I am asking you to help us create this future for Rainmaker Gallery by donating as much as you can.

Thank you for being part of the next chapter of Rainmaker.

We are so grateful for your generous support which means our work will continue!
