Raine Beauty Salon Doors Open

Hi My name is Dijanna or some know me as Dj, Entrepreneur and owner of Raine Beauty brand, well known makeup artist in the inner Seattle area.

I have been Doing makeup professionally for 7 years, I went to Aveda Beauty School where I then fell in love with my passion for makeup, I also went to Charlotte Tilbury school of makeup in LA and worked at Nordstrom for multiple makeup counters. I love everything beauty it's so important to me knowing I can make people look and feel good and boost one's confidence.

Before my makeup career I was a lost inner city young girl/ teen mom in the streets living a fast life heading down the wrong path, praying and asking God to make a way for me an learn my true purpose and talent so I can be of change, and a good remodel, and show my two kids at the time that you can be and do anything you put your mind to.

As I began to explore and play in makeup and expand my skills, I knew that was my way out and to show people a new and improved me and change for the better and the old me would be a thing of the past, as my love for makeup grew.

I began upping my beauty skills over the years and self-work by reading books and taking business classes and trainings. working with locals for photo shoots local fashion shoots and more. I then started a bath and body skincare line and proving I was now a professional and artist, so my dreams grew bigger I know I was meant to be a voice and face of change, others could look to and see it does not matter how you grew up as I had a tuff up bringing, it does not matter your past but only your future.

I Soon thought to myself Seattle could use a full-on makeup salon all about Makeup and beauty for women of all shades and skin types, nothing like the typical hair salon or local Nordstrom with added makeup service but a full-on upscale makeup salon with full services, creating exceptional customer service, and unforgettable beauty experience.

I originally had a dream of opening up in the central district area where I grew up and worked hard at making that happen in the summer of 2021, I did get a contract for the midtown building on 23rd and union. The Space I was Qualified for I just could not meet the finical demands of the high build out costing over 100,000s of thousand with being a single mom. I did gain a bunch of great recourse from people such as apple from a for apple daycare and advice from my cousin Andrea and northwest business impact and venture business school of Seattle which I attended.

I began to lose hope and feel like a failure and like I just didn't deserve a business or like I didn't work hard enough and failed on showing my kids and community that I could make this happen.

funding was hard as I was racially profiled, and my past kept coming about, and cost of living high as a single mother of 4 causing failure to take over even more so.

in 2022 I had my son LEO who gave me a push to make shit happen and not give up, I began to find a new business space that actually ended up being perfect. The new Raine Beauty Salon location is in Columbia city area on MLK, the space will have room for 3 makeup artists including myself, a treatment room for body work, and lashes and also be a fun cool rental space for events. I have signed a contract, and everything is in the works.

I am asking My community, the Seattle area, friends, and family, new and returning customers as well as business owners who know the struggle and how hard it is to open a business to please donate a little will go a long way. those of you who know me know how hard I have worked to be a better me and I know my business will be a great community addition to Seattle and creating jobs for more people looking for a career in the beauty industry. hoping to inspire and give hope for any and every one trying in 2023 as the world is a struggle.
