Hello everyone!

This summer I will be participating in a mission trip to La Libertad, El Salvador with my home church in Columbus, Rock City Church. Rock City has been sending teams to serve internationally since it was founded in 2011, with the number of people travelling and making a difference growing each year since. We have established community centers, medical and dental clinics, and provide the ongoing financial support to sustain them. While I love serving in our own community where there is undeniable constant need, I am truly excited to go "beyond our walls", and believe it is an important part of the church's mission as well.

I will be traveling this July (15-23) to El Salvador with a small team, where our focus will be working with the children/teens in the city of La Libertad. We will visit schools and the local orphanage, build beds for families, serve in the Children's Deveopment Center, and share God's love. This coastal town of about 35,000 people has an average income of $3500 per year for families. Many children and their families do not have real structured houses, running water, or any number of the basic necessities we all are priveleged to have access to.

The total trip cost for each individual is $1850, covering my travel costs, safe lodging, food, and the funds needed to complete our service projects for the week. From the moment I made the decision to participate, I have had the attitude of being prepared to use my own funds for any and all costs outside of my fundraising- I believe God wants me to participate, and one way or another the finances will come into place. (Please know that any excess funds raised would be donated to the trip to further expand our reach) The final payment is due by May 7, 2017, but donations may be made at any time.
