Help RDBF support dogs like Marci - Read updates
The Railway Dogs Benevolent Fund is a small charity that supports retired British Transport Police dogs..
Unfortunately when police dogs retire from the police service. They are of an older age with pre existing health conditions. Some are trained to bite and most insurance companies will not provide a policy to support them.
This leaves the owners with the responsibility of their healthcare and can be left with large veterinary costs when the dog becomes unwell.

Marci's background
Marci is a 10 year old GSD/Mali cross. Marci retired in 2022 after serving as a decorated general purpose dog for the British Transport Police. Marci was awarded the PDSA Order of Merit for his work in 2017 London Bridge terror attacks. This was one of many commendation received in his service. An example would be when Marci played a key part in recovering a murder weapon (knife) that was discarded when running from
the scene.

Thank you for your support.
