Rafter's Tavern

Brewster and Molly (Husband and wife) and their good friend Keith opened a music venue called Rafter's Tavern in a little town upstate called Callicoon about 2 years ago. Callicoon is a small historic town in upstate New York with beautiful old buildings and railroad tracks running through the center. Rafter's Tavern was rebuilt in 1889 after a fire destroyed much of Callicoon in 1885.
It didn't take long before locals and travelers alike made the tavern a place to be with friends, meet new and interesting people and listen to great live music. In fact, after just one year, Rafter's was voted Best Live Music venue in multiple counties by a local paper, the River Reporter. The future seemed bright. That is...until Covid. Now, like many small businesses, paying our bills is a constant struggle.
Callicoon is a seasonal town, and winters are the toughest, even in good times. There is a vibrant artistic and musical community in Sullivan county and beyond that have made Rafter's Tavern a home away from home. A community that we are very grateful for. For safety's sake...ours and the communities...we have shifted to takeout only for the time being but it is quite apparent that it's not enough. To save money we plan to close the doors for the month of January and reopen in February.
The future is uncertain. We realize the future is uncertain for all of us these days and, frankly, it's difficult to ask for assistance knowing that...but we have to try everything right now. We do believe that the future will be bright once we get beyond this International crisis...we just have to hold on until then. We are grateful for any assistance. Thank you.
