Hello My name is Orla McCartney and myself and 12 others were selected by the school, St Patrick’s Maghera, to take part in a life-changing trip to Tanzania this July to volunteer and help achieve a brighter future for the children in Tanzania. We will be working on a project that is a school being built in memory of another 17 year old, Ciara McLaughlin, who passed away in 2005. Ciara passed away 3 weeks before she was supposed to be volunteering in Tanzania herself, and we are going to continue Ciara’s legacy by helping others and working on building schools for the people who live there. Building the school has been a working project for a number of years, and we have now reached the last classroom of St Mary’s Ciara’s school. Any donation, big or small, will all go toward helping the people in Tanzania and working on improving life and education for them, as they are much less fortunate than us.
