This Gofundme is being made for my father Rafael Solis, a hardworking man, an amazing father and a stand up man.
My father was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma early March 2021, after having trouble breathing, and developing a strange lump on the side of his neck.
My brother and I first noticed the lump on his neck in April of 2020. We told my father something seemed off - but when he took a visit to the doctor's office, he was told it was caused by stress. Later in December 2020, he went to the hospital again, and was sent home, again. After all this my father was still not feeling well, so he ended up going the ER in early March 2021, where he was told he had water in his lungs, and later on, diagnosed.
Seeing my father go through this has been one of the hardest things my family and I have ever gone through. Seeing your loved one going through an illness is a heartbreaking experience.
My father is a kind man to all that know him. To know him is to love him, and even with this illness, he still has his sense of humor, and his will to live to overcome this illness.
He gives us hope that as a family we will get through this.
My family has been impacted tremendously by my father's illness. My father is the backbone of our family and seeing him in pain is he last thing I would ever want to witness.
Times have been hard at home, with my mom losing her job due to COVID-19 and my siblings being full time students. I have stepped in to help my family by taking care of my younger sister who is autistic while I work from home.
I want to help raise money for my father's medical needs and so that he can take his time to fully heal and not feel the pressure of having to go back to work immediately.
He has worked hard all his life and I want him to be able to heal completely and take care of his health during this trying time.
