Rafael Ayala Villalba is one of the most unique, loving, intelligent, funny, charismatic, adventurous, loyal and exceptional people you will ever meet. Everyone who has met, worked with, been in school with, and gotten to know him will surely agree that he is a truly special individual. His spirit, loyalty and love for his family and friends is unparalleled and his curiosity and ongoing pursuit of education and travel is unparalleled.
On Friday, July 15th Rafael was involved in a motor vehicle accident. As he was riding his motorcycle he was hit by a drunk driver and thrown from his motorcycle. His leg was severed by the vehicle and and the first police officer on the scene was able to stop the bleeding and saved his life. He has lost his left leg and is still struggling with multiple injuries and infection. His Femur Had to be removed up to the acetabulum due to excessive bone damage and was unsalvageable. He is awake and he is alive and for that we are all exceedingly grateful. The drunk driver who hit him has no bodily injury coverage and he has no health insurance as he is such a healthy physically fit individual that doesn't smoke, drink or do drugs and prefered to help his family financially and further his future while still trying to enjoy the wonders of, so your help and support will go a long way.
Despite his current circumstance he is still determined to take his ethics exam, and earn his license to practice law. Not to mention that he already earned a law degree after a traumatic brain injury while he was a student at FIU, and fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer.
Unfortunately he still has a long road to recovery ahead of him, but with the support of his friends and family we believe he will persevere despite this obstacle, just as he has with any other that his been put in front of him. He’s someone who values his health runs 2 to 6 miles a day goes to the gym twice a day and he is extremely physically fit and a very active individual. Despite this tragedy, he is, and we are all intent on getting him back to where he was before this accident occurred.
Your support will go far in helping him and his family on this journey. Your generosity, love and positivity will go very far as he recovers, rehabilitates, and overcomes this unfortunate and life changing tragedy.
Amanda Vanderee will be in charge of all donated funds and they will be used for medical expenses, recovery etc. Thank you again for your love and support.
