Rafa and Myrna Beltran are known for helping anyone who needs it. Now, they need our help to cover bills as they fight for their lives while caring for their 7-year-old son.

My name is Juan and Rafa is my twin brother. Rafa needs a double transplant (kidney and pancreas) due to diabetes. He found out last summer after going to the doctor for a wound that wouldn't heal. The news came just as Myrna was recovering from breast and bladder cancer. More recently, Rafa found out he'll need triple-bypass heart surgery before going on the donor list. Myrna is about to start an aggressive new round of chemotherapy to keep her bladder cancer from coming back.

While any one of these diagnoses would devastate any family, Raf and Myrna take each new battle head-on because:

Raf and Myrna moved from California to Wisconsin a few years ago to build a better life for their son. God blessed them with great jobs, a new house, and good medical insurance. But insurance won't cover the mortgage, heat, and water bills that must still be paid during Raf's expected 3-month recovery. Insurance also won't cover the total cost of post-transplant medications that Raf will need for the rest of his life.
