Raelyns celebration of life

This is the sweet Raelyn Markley. She's a silly, loving, happy LOVED girl! When she was 8 months old we received the devastating diagnosis of SMA, Spinal Muscular Atrophy. This lion baby fought for almost 3 years. She was due to turn 3 August 22 2016. Raelyn had just attended the annual SMA conference with her adoring Gram. They had a wonderful day crusing around the Disneyland Hotel meeting hundreds of children JUST LIKE her. Some who couldn't sit up unassisted like her. Some who couldn't say words like her. Some who couldn't walk like her. Even some who couldn't eat like her. But I can assure you they all felt so normal and happy. When Raelyn arrived home that evening, she had some minor difficulties clearing her airway. Her Gram began all the nessacary measures used to assist Raelyn in clearing her airway. When none of the typical methods proved adequate, Emergency response was on its way. The approximate amount of time her brain was without oxygen was estimated to be 20-30 minutes. 7 days later, on June 22, Raelyn was pronounced brain dead & on complete life support. She remains in the hospital while recipients for her organs, are getting the most amazing and life changing phone calls of their lives "There is a match!" Raelyn's legacy will live on! Not only in our hearts, but in all the lives she's touch with her goofy, loving, silly, amazing spirit. As well as the lives she is about to save with the amazing gift of life.

This should be the time we begin planning another one of her beautiful, over the top birthday celebrations. Tragically,  we are now faced with pulling together what MUST be a beautiful tribute to this incridbly amazing littler person!
