Help Kathy Beat Cancer

First, thank you for being here. Those who know Kathy would call her one of the kindest, sweetest, and most helpful friends they know; but I just call her Mom. My mom has not had an easy life. After losing her husband no more than ten years ago, she now faces something even harder than becoming a widow: a fight with cancer.

As you may already know, several months ago Kathy discovered a lump on her breast tissue and immediately went to her doctor to address the concern. After a biopsy was performed, she learned that she had Stage 1 Breast Cancer. If not for her diligence, the cancer would have spread unknowingly, but we are grateful and count our blessings that she caught it early and was able to seek treatment so soon.

After month's of chemotherapy under the expert care of the staff at the Regional Cancer Center of Carroll County Maryland, Kathy underwent a single-mastectomy and is currently healing from her surgery. Once healed from surgery, she will undergo radiation therapy to address any remaining cancer cells in her body.

During her chemo, Kathy continued to work and support herself every day despite all the difficult side effects that came with her treatments. Unfortunately now, with time spent healing from surgery and the impending radiation therapy, she is unable to work to pay her bills. This has lead to many bills coming past due with accompanying late fees and interest charges despite my attempts at assisting her financially. Kathy could use all the financial support you are willing to offer and your generosity can lighten her load so she can focus on recovery.

Whether you know Kathy from Golden Crest, Sun Valley, Pinkerton Security, or even as far back as Dundalk High School, you'll know she is the warmest, sweetest, and most generous person. She's always there for her friends and coworkers to help ease their burdens, and is beloved by her nursing home residents. Kathy loves bringing joy to those around her, and especially those in elder care. She works the night shifts and holidays to provide community and comfort to her residents, and a reprieve for her coworkers.

So I ask, will you please help my mom, Kathy, in her fight against cancer and donate anything you can to help her focus on recovery? Your kind donation will go directly to her and myself to help with the financial hardship as a result of her battle so she can focus on healing. If you cannot donate, could you at least take a moment to share her campaign on your social media page? Every little bit and every share or tweet helps Kathy in her battle and we would be exceptionally grateful to you. Thank you for reading her story, for your donation or share, and God bless you and keep you.

Sincerely, Her Loving Son,
