Hi, I am Briana and I am raising money to help treat my senior cat Max for his HyperThyroidism. Max has been with me for 17 wonderful years and I would love to be able to have him living comfortable and healthy for the rest of his life.
Over the past few months he had begun to start losing weight, and he was already a small cat. He became pickier with his food, almost exclusively eating wet food, though nothing was found wrong with his teeth or gums. After some bowel problems I took him for an early check-up and he was soon diagnosed.
We are about to start him on a prescription thyroid diet, but it is costly (assuming he will eat it). However, what I really want to raise funds for is the Radioactive Iodine injection/pill (I-131). While the diet will help balance the thyroid levels over the course of his life, the injection/pill is a one-time treatment with a high rate (95%) cure success that will allow him food and treat freedom and an otherwise happy and healthy life.
The expected total cost could range from $2200 to over $3000 depending on the facility we are able to take him to for this treatment, assuming there are no other unexpected costs.
We appreciate any bit of help.
