From Luca: Yay! You're here! I love people and smelling and running and cuddling with my family (and favourite pig!), and since you're reading this...you are family now, too! I'll be happy to cuddle you, and on walks I'll always make sure that we're all together.
But something I don't love is this massive lump in my nose. It hurts and makes me sneeze all the time (even though I've been told that I am very cute while doing so.) It also makes it so that I can't get a good night's sleep (another favorite pass-time) because it is difficult to breathe.
From Luca's Family: If you know any of us (and Luca assures us that you do, since he now considers you family!) you know that we're absolutely in love with our sweet boy. He has survived cancer once before via operation, but unfortunately, this time it is inoperable, and the only treatment is radiation. We were shocked to hear that this would cost $13,000 plus travel and lodging while he is treated in New Jersey.
When we heard about the price, we talked options. If we don't treat, Luca has at most a year left with us. And that year, as mentioned above, will be uncomfortable for him, especially as the tumor grows and the cancer spreads.
However, if we do treat, we've been assured that Luca has several years of swimming, eating munchkins, and gentle snoring left-- and these years would be comfortable for him. We're happy to have learned that the cancer has so far not spread anywhere and is located solely in his nose.
We are all putting in as much money as we have, but we would appreciate any help you can give us to ensure that the rest of Luca's life is comfortable and happy. He is a part of our family (and now yours!) and we want to do what's best for him.
