My name is Kimmy, and together with my coach, Marko Baloh, we are taking on the 860-mile Race Across the West (RAW) in June 2026. Marko is a world-record-holding ultra-cyclist who has won and set records in RAW both solo and as part of a 2-person men's team. In 2024, under Marko's coaching, I achieved a victory and set a course record at the Hoodoo 500, a 500-mile cycling race. The idea of racing with my coach was a dream, and when Marko proposed we team up for RAW, I knew it was an opportunity we couldn't pass up. We are aiming not only to win but to set a new course record as a mixed team. The RAW course is legendary—spanning from Oceanside, CA to Durango, CO, with diverse and challenging terrain that will test our limits and reward our efforts. Marko brings a wealth of experience and several world records, while I am rising in the ultra-cycling world with a few course records of my own. Our shared vision and commitment to this race have brought us together as a team, and we are confident in our ability to achieve something extraordinary. Competing in RAW requires a strong logistical foundation. We need a six-person support crew to handle nutrition, hydration, navigation, medical needs, and morale. We'll rent two vans for the race and return trip, cover gas, and provide lodging for ourselves and our crew at the start, finish, and along the way. Food, beverages, and custom t-shirts for our crew, race-specific equipment, and the entry fee are all essential expenses. Every contribution will directly support our ability to compete safely and successfully. Ultra-cycling has become my passion, inspired by legends like Marko, Seana Hogan, and Leah Goldstein. I remember my first Hoodoo 500 stage race in 2019, when Seana asked if I'd ever consider the nonstop race and/or longer races. That question planted a seed, and years of relentless training and perseverance have brought me to this moment. Racing with Marko as my teammate is a dream come true, and we are both fully committed to giving our all in RAW. The bigger and more complex these races become, the more vital it is to have people supporting our journey. We can't do it alone—your support will help us cover the costs and make this record attempt possible. It would mean the world to us to have you join our journey and help us achieve this goal.
