Racing Past Dyslexia:Help Bro Jordan Chase His NASCAR Dream
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Bro Jordan. I’m 13 years old, and ever since I could talk, I’ve been talking about cars. Not just any cars – real race cars. I dream of becoming a NASCAR Cup Series driver, standing in Victory Lane with a trophy taller than me, showing the world that hard work beats anything life throws your way.
But my journey isn’t just about speed. I’ve faced challenges off the track too.
I have phonologic and dysgraphic dyslexia, which means reading and writing are harder for me than for most kids. Actually, not only do letters and numbers flip - but how I hear sounds and precieve the world is different than everyone else. In school, I’m used to things taking me twice as long. I go to online school where I thrive, but my mom helps me throughout my days. Sometimes it feels like I have to fight for every word, every assignment, every grade. On top of that I am colorblind making telling the difference between the green and caution lights very tricky! Its difficult to be a colorblind and dyslexic driver. But when I put on my helmet and get in that car… none of that matters. Racing is where I feel free. It’s where my brain works faster than anyone else’s. It’s where I belong.
I recently started racing Bandolero cars at Seekonk Speedway. Every lap I drive makes me a better racer. People have told me I have natural talent – that I have a natural ability read the car and the track - but those skills are still being perfected. I do not come from a racing family. I am the first in my family to do this and hopefully starting a legacy to follow behind me. Unfortunately, racing isn’t just talent and dreams. It takes money for tires, fuel, entry fees, coaching, safety gear, and car maintenance. My family is doing everything they can to support me, but we can’t do it alone. I do my own maintenance (for the most part) and my dad helps me when I need it.
I want to prove that learning differences and dyslexia can't stop you from achieving your biggest dreams. That hard work, perseverance, and a whole lot of heart can carry you farther than you ever imagined. With your help, I can keep racing, continue training, and take the next steps toward my ultimate goal: driving in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Every dollar you give goes directly toward my racing expenses this year:
- Race entry fees
- Tires and fuel
- Safety upgrades
- Coaching and car maintenance
- Travel costs to races
Every name that donates will be put on my car. I figure that not everyone has a company to sponser me - but I think that you should be aknowledged for helping along the way.
Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for being part of my journey. When I finally get to that Cup car, know that it’s because people like you believed I could get there.
See you at the track!
