From Resilience to the World Stage - Competing at the European Championships

In 2025, I raced Ironman Copenhagen and crossed the finish line in a time worthy of Great Britain Age Group selection. This is a huge honour and an incredibly exciting opportunity — one that represents hard work, sacrifice, and belief.

However, unlike elite athletes, there is no funding support available for age group competitors. Representing GB is entirely self-funded.

That means I must personally cover:

* A full year of high-volume training

* Fuel, recovery, and enhanced maintenance on my bikes

* Travel and accommodation

* Insurance

* Race entry fees (over £500 alone)

* Mandatory GB kit

The costs add up quickly, and that’s why I’m reaching out for support or sponsorship to help me get to the start line.

The Work Behind the Result:

Those who know me know this result didn’t come easily.

I trained for Copenhagen whilst working full-time, travelling for work, managing long hours, and juggling everyday life. Training weeks regularly exceeded 20 hours, fitted in around early mornings, late nights, and constant fatigue.

The next 8 months will be much the same — only harder.

But I’m not going just to take part.
 I’m going with one goal in mind: a podium-worthy performance.
 Go big or go home.

Why This Means So Much;

Triathlon came into my life later than most, following an incredibly difficult period for my family. That time gave me a powerful realisation: life is short, and time is limited.

Since then, this sport has become more than a hobby.
 It’s been purpose, discipline, and a way to channel resilience built through overcoming adversity.

I’ve faced a lot in my life.
 My resilience is strong.
 My discipline is unquestionable.

Being selected to represent Great Britain feels like both a reward for everything that’s come before — and a privilege I refuse to take lightly.
