My name is William Barrie and I am raising money for Overseas Aids for Kids of Sierra Leone (OAKS).

This year I’ve signed up for HYROX, a fitness race that mixes running with strength challenges. I wanted to set myself a goal that would push me — and raise money for a charity that really deserves the support.

OAKS (Overseas Aid for the Kids of Sierra Leone) is a small but mighty charity that’s been making a huge difference in the lives of children and families in the Makeni region. They focus on providing education, food, healthcare, and safe school facilities — giving children a chance to break the cycle of poverty through learning.

Every pound raised goes directly to:

•Supplying school materials and uniforms

•Supporting teachers and local staff

•Providing meals so children can learn without hunger

•Improving classrooms and facilities to create safe, inspiring spaces

These might sound like small things to us — but for these children, they are life-changing.

$20 could buy essential school supplies for a child.

$50 could feed a student for a month.

$100 could help pay a teacher’s salary and keep a classroom running.
