The Josh Billings Triathlon has always been a meaningful part of my life. Growing up in the Berkshires, I spent my early years watching from the sidelines, and eventually joining my father in the race as I got older.
On September 15th, I will participate in the Josh Billings Triathlon and compete as an Ironman, consisting of biking, paddling, and running. This race is about more than just personal achievement, it’s a tribute to my father, David Haust, who passed away this year from a rare form of cancer. He was a remarkable athlete who competed in the Josh for over 30 years. His passion for this event was undeniable, and I’m inspired to carry on his legacy in a way that makes a difference.
I’m raising money for the Target Cancer Foundation. This foundation is dedicated to funding research for rare cancers, including the one that my father was diagnosed with. These types of cancers often don’t get the attention or resources they need, and I want to help change that.
Regardless of size, every donation brings us closer to a future where rare cancers are better understood and more effectively treated. Please consider supporting me in this race, not just for David, but for all the families affected by these devastating diseases.
Thank you for helping to honor my dad's memory through this cause.
