Racing has always been something special for my dad and me. We’re a father-daughter team based here in Central Indiana, and the track is where we bond, learn from each other, and make memories with my kids and the close-knit racing family that surrounds us.

My dad is the most selfless man I know. He works endlessly behind the scenes tweaking, fixing, and adjusting—not because he expects recognition, but because he loves it. He’s not one to ask for help, even when he needs it. But this weekend brought something none of us expected.

After racing at Paragon Speedway on Saturday night, we got back to our shop around 1:30 AM. We parked and locked everything up like we always do. Sometime later that night, someone in a Ford Super Duty truck with a utility bed stole my dad’s 24-foot enclosed trailer—inside was his race car, four-wheeler, all of our racing tools, merchandise, and gear.

Yes, it’s a huge financial loss. But even more painful is everything that can’t be replaced: the late nights in the shop, the quiet pride he takes in every weld and bolt, the time he’s poured into making this something we can do together as a family.

It’s hard to explain to someone outside the racing world what this lifestyle means, but it’s more than competition. It’s community. It’s connection. It’s a legacy.

We’re heartbroken but hopeful. Because if there’s one thing racing teaches you, it’s how to get back up and keep going.
