We need a new visual narrative of what aging can look and feel like.
125 LIVE, the vibrant senior community center in Rochester, Minnesota is raising funds to permanently acquire "Racing Age," a powerful photography exhibit by Twin Cities photojournalist Angela Jimenez.
"Racing Age" features photographs of masters-level track and field competitors aged 60 -100, and invites us to witness the struggle, joy, triumph, wisdom and exhilaration of older bodies. These photos challenge our assumptions and biases about age.
Eight gorgeous museum-quality framed black & white photographs from this project is temporarily hanging in our fitness center, thanks to a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. They inspire our seniors every day. We want to make this art a permanent part of our community space, and are asking for your help!
To acquire this exhibit permanently, we need to raise $12,000 by June. We are reaching out to friends, supporters community members, track and field enthusiasts and lovers of art photography to ask for your financial support in meeting our goal.

Rochester Senior Citizens Services Inc., better known as The Rochester Senior Center or the new 125 LIVE, is a non-profit organization that serves the senior citizens of our community and the surrounding area.The Rochester Senior Center serves as a focal point for the coordination and delivery of services so that older adults in Olmsted County and the surrounding area can remain active, healthy and independent. We offer a 5-day/week recreation and services program to enrich the lives of older adults.
