I am raising funds in memory of my grandmother, who sadly passed away in late February after battling Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and breast cancer.
Watching someone you love slowly lose pieces of themselves is incredibly painful. There were moments of confusion, moments of frustration, and moments where our family realised just how much these illnesses take away, not only from the person living with them, but from everyone who loves them. Her passing has left a pain that is difficult to put into words, but it has also given me a deeper reason to take on this challenge.
On July 26th, 2026, I will be taking on the T100 London Triathlon — a 100 kilometre endurance event made up of a 2 kilometre open-water swim, an 80 kilometre bike ride, and a half marathon run, all completed in a tuxedo.
It is one of the toughest physical challenges I have ever attempted, and I am just under 20 days away now. The training has been demanding: early mornings, long sessions, physical exhaustion, and discipline. But I am choosing to take this on with purpose, in her memory.
I cannot change what my grandmother went through, but I can push myself to raise awareness and support organisations that are working to fight this disease. Alzheimer’s Society funds vital research, provides practical support for families, and works towards a future where fewer people have to experience this reality.
Your donation is not just supporting a challenge. It is contributing towards research, care, and hope for families like mine, and helping honour the memory of someone who meant more to me than words can explain. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps make a difference.
Thank you for supporting this journey, for standing behind a cause that means so much to me, and for helping me honour my grandmother’s memory.
