Hello everyone! My name is Rachel, and over the past four years, I have been blessed to study jazz music and be a part of the Piedmont Hills High School vocal jazz ensemble, The Treble Makers. These past four years spent studying jazz have opened so many doors that I would have never thought possible, including performance opportunites at impressive venues and opportunities to meet and work with world-renowned jazz musicians, such as Grammy Award-nominated composer and clinician Dr. Jeremy Fox, through jazz festivals and through my participation in the California All State Jazz Choir. Studying jazz has given me so much more than skill in a certain type of art: it has given me confidence and a passion for music that I did not know I had, and has changed my life for the better. This past year, I assembled and directed my own vocal jazz ensemble at a local middle school and have had the honor of being accepted into University of the Pacific's Conservatory of Music for a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Composition.
At my most recent jazz festival, the 2015 Santa Cruz Jazz Festival, I was given the opportunity of a lifetime in the form of a 50% tuition scholarship to the Five-Week Summer Performance Program at the Berklee College of Music - arguably the best place to study vocal jazz in America! Though I am very humbled and honored to have received this scholarship, it would still cost my family and me at least $7000 to cover housing, transportation, and tuition. I have been very fortunate for these past years to have the support of my community in my pursuit of the arts, and ask that you continue to support me, financially or through well-wishes and prayer, in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at Berklee.
Here are links to some of my solo and ensemble performances. Please feel free to check them out!

Thank you so much for your time, and I thank you for your support! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
God bless,
Rachel
