My goal is to become a nurse practioner and help people in need. I would love to use my skills for missionary trips as well as helping those in my community. I attend Harding University, a Christian college in Arkansas, and was suppose to receive a considerable amount of financial aid this semester. However, due to some major changes in my family, my FAFSA and verification forms were never updated by my parent who has always taken care of this matter. I asked numerous times for help but never received any, and since I don't file taxes individually, I cannot complete this process myself. As a result of this lack of completion, I now owe $6,000 to my college, and I cannot enroll for my nursing classes next semester, which are filling up or are already full. Nor will I be able to attend Harding next semester if this matter isn't resolved soon. I am in my junior year at a college I chose specifically for the strong Christian connections, rigorous and thorough education, and bonds that will last me a lifetime. I am vice-president of Shantih, one of the clubs at Harding, I teach the 4 years old Bible class at church, have helped to organize many social and giving-back-to-the-community events, and I have gone on two mission trips, one of which I co-organized. I cannot sit idly by and watch my dreams disintegrate. I have already spoken to financial aid each time my parent promised to take care of the matter. I can no longer rely on empty promises as there are only a couple of weeks left for this financial matter to be resolved. I do not like having to ask for assistance, but I don't know what else to do. Please help if you can.
