Rachel's unexpected Cancer Battle

Hi, my name is Michelle, and I was approached by my co-worker asking if it would be a great idea to fundraise for my sister-in-law Rachel and her family as she has been suddenly diagnosed with Bowel Cancer.

It has come as a shock that Rachel and her family have been hit with the saddest news that Rachel has Stage 3 Bowel Cancer.

Rachel went for a procedure for stomach pain and blood in her stool, which uncovered a tumour on her BOWEL.

With great hope of surgery to remove the tumour had then led to more devastating news for her and her family; during surgery, they had removed 33 lymph nodes, and a biopsy had confirmed that 20 were cancerous.

The Oncologist has told Rachel she will have to undergo Chemotherapy as her cancer is stage 3 and advanced, and the plan will be for Rachel to do three days of chemotherapy a fortnight for the next six months.

Rachel has three beautiful young girls and a loving fiance who will do whatever it takes to support his family.

With the challenges ahead and Christmas around the corner, they will all have to adapt to the "new normal."

While family members fly into Queensland to help in any way possible as Rachel and her family reside in Queensland, and all other extended families live in Victoria,
